What Reach Records Newest Addition Means for the Future of Reach

If you don’t already know Reach Records signed their newest member in 6 years with Aha Gazelle. The move may come as a surprise to some but Reach signing Aha is very similar to when Andy got his break with Reach. Both are (were) up-and-coming artists in Christian Rap that gained a following through features and mixtapes but still weren’t well known. Andy had garnered a following with music he released under the name C-lite but he really came to the spotlight when he featured on Lecraes song “Background” in 2010. Aha has not been featured on any of Reach Records artists but was recently featured on Social Club’s newest album “The Misadventures of Marty and Fern” who are popular in their own right. Reach saw an opportunity to expand their market and diversify their roster with Aha and they took the chance.

Aha tends to stay on the lighter side of Christian rap, lyrically. Some people might consider him to be more of a Conscious rapper than a Christian rapper. Is Reach Records trending towards the lighter side of Christian Rap? Or is signing Aha strictly a business move? We’ll have to wait and see what happens. Let us know what you think in the comments!
